As an accredited Occupational Skills Development Provider, Kushinda Academy offers programmes across three specialist faculties: Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Health & Safety, and Beauty. Our programmes combine knowledge, practical training, assessment and workplace application to help learners develop the competence and confidence required in their chosen field.

How To Apply?

Step by Step Application Process

  1. Apply online through the Kushinda Academy website or visit our campus in Florida North.
  2. Select a programme within your chosen faculty and confirm that you meet the relevant entry requirements.
  3. Submit certified copies of your identity document and relevant certificates or qualifications required for your programme.
  4. Pay the application fee where applicable.
  5. Attend a programme briefing, assessment or interview where required. All applicants are subject to programme-specific requirements.
  6. Successful applicants will receive written confirmation from Kushinda Academy together with the relevant enrolment and payment information.
  7. Complete the required enrolment process and make the applicable payment to secure your place.

Who Can Apply

Kushinda Academy welcomes applicants who are ready to develop practical skills and prepare themselves for meaningful participation in the world of work.Our programmes cater for learners at different levels of education and experience, including:

  • School dropouts and young people seeking occupational skills
  • Matric graduates and applicants with relevant qualifications
  • Working individuals looking to develop or formalise their skills
  • Aspiring professionals and entrepreneurs
  • Experienced practitioners who may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Individuals seeking practical skills for employment or self-employment
Entry Requirements
  • NQF Level 2: Grade 10 or equivalent. Basic literacy and numeracy may be required, together with a programme-specific interview.

  • NQF Level 3: Grade 11 or equivalent. A relevant NQF Level 2 qualification may be preferred for some programmes.

  • NQF Level 4: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. A programme-specific assessment or portfolio may be required where applicable.

  • NQF Level 5: Grade 12 together with a relevant NQF Level 4 qualification or relevant experience.


Mature Age Entry / RPL: Applicants aged 23 and above with relevant work experience may apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Applicants remain subject to the relevant assessment and admission requirements.

Our Faculties

Kushinda Academy currently offers occupationally relevant education across three specialist faculties:

  • Faculty of Culinary Arts & Hospitality: Professional cheffing, cookery, baking, food and beverage operations, kitchen support and related hospitality skills.

  • Faculty of Health & Safety: Occupational health and safety, emergency first aid, evacuation coordination, risk assessment, compliance and incident investigation.

  • Faculty of Beauty: Beauty therapy, body care and massage, hair services, salon operations and related beauty and personal care skills.

Fees and Payments

Programme fees vary according to the qualification, programme and faculty. The  Prospectus Book provides programme-specific fee information. Depending on the programme, fees may be payable:

  • Annually
  • Per semester
  • Through structured monthly payment plans

Bursary and scholarship opportunities are available for qualifying students. Applicants are encouraged to enquire with Student Services regarding available opportunities and applicable requirements.
